  • I have a question about the 2 openings (Stonewall and Owen). Can you please demonstrate on the December 3rd coaching call, how to adjust the opening to various opponent moves. I often get stuck when my opponent plays something that doesn’t fit into these openings. I hope you get the gist of what I’m asking. Thanks.

    • I would love a rating climb using only those two openings.

    • In the course he really goes over all the possible things you may see. There’s the stonewall and owens videos, then there are like 3 more videos for below 800, above 800, and 1200 videos with more info. The idea is to rewatch these videos over and over and play a bot to practice. Just have to learn them

    • This relates to a question I had before about analyzing games with an engine (stockfish).

Nelson mentions looking at what the engine would have played. My question is if the engine gives the best move for BOTH sides, how is that helpful for me as there will be no resolution biased in MY favor?

Is the drill to see what the best move is for me…

    • Just finished module 4 (Tactics). How can i…

      • If you haven’t gotten to it yet, check out the Avoiding Blunders part of the course. I found the blunder check procedure to be really helpful.

        • Same boat as me. ( And thousands of others) I think we’re going to need a bigger boat. I think im playing for the other side at times. It has been said that if we can just avoid blunders we would be among the upper group of players.

Discipline is what I need. Tunnel vision is my enemy too

Keep going along with the course and improvement will come.

        • When your opponent moves a pawn in front of his king, how do you decide whether to focus on the weak squares or on a pawn that’s been weakened?
