I started trying to reach 120 ELO. I have played soi much over the last 3 months. I have reached 640 tonight. I have not been through this course as of yet. I have started it. Does Nelson ever come on here? He sure does advertise well. I give him props for that.

I am 58 . I have had 2 mild strokes. Doc told me playing Chess and reading a lot could help my cognition and memory . I am really spaced out from it. So I started playing a few months a go. I am up to 560 ELO BUT, I played just to challenge my mind and hopefully help out my situation. Soooooo As a result I played only to play NOT to work on…

Good for you. I am 64 and retired. I restarted playing chess after over a 40 year break as one of the activities I use to keep exercising my brain.
Chess puzzles (especially the lower rated ones) tend to emphasize mating patterns along with the tactical patterns from unit 4. Another thing that helps me are the Chess Vibes rating climb…

This is so pathetic its funny.
No fault of Nelson, but i am a horrible chess player. I have recently mastered the art of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
If im not totally blundering my pieces and playing like im taking bribes from my opponent, i do manage at times to mount a devastating attack where i totally decimate the other…

We all seem to go through streaks where we seem to make mistake after mistake (I certainly have), however you can certainly improve. Just concentrate on one or two items at a time. Based on your comments, concentrate on doing the blunder checks before every move. That sounds like it will solve a lot of your problems.
As far as stalemates…

That is very common.. I am climbing to 600. I still mistake Checkmate for Stalemate. It Is crazy how If you take Nelson’s advice and look at the LAST move your opponent makes and DON’T blunder. Hi Nelson, I played an OTB game last monday where I enden up in a pawn/king end game. At the time my opponent offered a draw and I accepted as I couldnt see a win. At home I put the game into chess.com and the engine said I was winning with 5 points advantage. However no matter what I do I cannot seem to win, also other players looked at it…

Sure I would love to see it.
If you’ve input the game into chess.com you can play it against the computer. Play as your opponent and let Stockfish play your side and see how it goes about it.

I am headed towards 600 ELO In rapid chess… 10 minute games. It says ( Game rating 1100 ) and 84.5 % accuracy. What does that mean? Can anyone please help me and answer that? TY so much In advance.

First of all , it means you can beat me. Second, and this is just MY understanding, which could be inaccurate,is that the accuracy rating compared your moves vs. the computer moves. 100% means the computer didn’t find any mistakes in your play. You did what the computer would have done.
No clue what the game rating means.

the engine estimated your playing at this rating, however it does not reflect your true stength in my opinion. I am currently around 1100 and often play at a 1600-1800 level… but playing opponents at my level is tough enough as it is…..

I think my rating has finally bottomed out to my proper level as I am now winning the odd game online. Now to start the climb to 1500!
