Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, I was around 800 when starting the course and gradually worked my way up to 1235 over 6 months. Since then I’ve had huge losing streaks and am down to low 900 in just a couple of months. It seems most of my opponents are playing much stronger than before and the 900’s are not playing any…

There isn’t a huge difference between 1100 and 900. Just keep playing solid and do your blunder checks. Also, you may need to address your mental state and stop playing when you get on a losing streak and don’t throw away elo when you are tilted. Believe me I know, I dropped myself 100 points last Sunday rage queuing and losing 7 in a row *lol*

Also, you may want to pick new openings. The only part about the course I didn’t really like was Nelson spent a couple of chapters telling you to “Do these fundamental things” and then recommended two openings that didn’t do any of those fundamentals. I agree the Stonewall and Owen’s Defence go completely against opening principles but despite that I was having really good success with them. Was so weird how all of a sudden I wasn’t. So question ? I have only been play a few months. How Important Is it to Attack Or Remove your opponents piece once it crosses to your side? Is it Vital? Are there times you Just can’t find a way BUT we should always try?

Does the electronic board have different difficulty levels it plays at? If it is set to play as stockfish (ELO ~3200), then it will totally destroy you (along with everyone else on this message board) regardless of what opening you play. See if you can turn the engine difficulty down a bit and see if that helps.

I am no expert . I think as far as chess goes Its great to have an Idea BUT I also think we need to adapt as we play. I don’t think there Is an opening or gambit that leads to victory. I think following solid principles and developing a good eye Is vital. It’s a hard game. You will get better . Keep playing.
