So my attempt at a Greek gift sacrifice here was a brilliant… blunder! However, I found the real brilliant move a couple of moves later. https://www.chess.com/game/live/128828545725

What sort of weird scam is chess.com doing with these “Player’s Leagues”? I usually don’t pay attention to any of that, but this week I noticed I was in 3rd place and would advance if I kept my position. I have a decent number of Blitz wins this week so I’ve played a little bit more to try and secure it. I wanted to see if anyone below me…
-
I also just noticed that my own trophy count doesn’t match my game history. I have 13 Blitz wins which should be 117 trophies, but somehow I’m showing 162 (which would be 18 Blitz wins, it’s 9 trophies per win in blitz, 15 in rapid, 3 in bullet). Understanding what magic math is happening there could maybe explain the 2 profiles that have only…

Here’s an interesting example of when castling is bad and not castling is good. In this game castling was a blunder for my opponent and not doing so was best for me. Also, as Nelson says, just wait for them to make a mistake. Patience won this game: https://www.chess.com/game/live/123980399685

On a lighter note, I can’t help but wonder if my opponent here thought I was rice cooking. This game was so good I would almost report myself, LMAO. I feel a little bad because the queen blunder was obviously out of frustration/tilt. https://www.chess.com/game/live/123548404899

So, in the review of this game, there’s a point where h4 is the best engine move. Same thing happened to @ChessVibes during last night’s stream when he played a rice cooker and in the game I posted that was against a rice cooker. I’m starting to wonder how often h4 is actually an incredible move and we just miss it because we’re human, LMAO.

There’s nothing more vindicating than when chess.com agrees that you played a rice cooker and gives you back your points. I don’t ever report since I’m not some master level ELO and I wouldn’t expect to see many cheaters at my rating, because, they should be winning a lot and all at high ratings, right? But since seeing @ChessVibes run…

It makes me wonder how many cheaters there are out there as I’ve encountered a rice cooker already and I’ve only played a handful of games. In my case I didn’t report the other player, but the next morning I woke to an email from chess.com saying my opponent had been banned for fair play violations and the points I had lost had been restored. …

And with this game, I have broken 1300. Rough mid game, but beautiful finish.

Neat to see you using the Owen’s defense successfully here. When you moved your Knight, I really wanted you to bring your queen to G5 (engine recommended move) to check his king. I think you would have won a bishop there. Regardless, you played a great game. Congrats:)

People be asking what to do when they screw up the stonewall with e5. Well, here’s what I did, XD. So far, I’ve had 4 losses and 2 draws against 1300+. This is my first win against a 1300+!
