How to get a brilliant move: miss a mate in 2 and take a couple extra moves to sac something THEN checkmate 😅

This puzzle has me duped. Over my head.

Went back and worked the puzzle. My first thought was to see if the queen could be trapped. That was the answer. The queen coming back to the first rank set the trap. This enabled the pawn pushes which didn’t allow the black queen to hide. After the black queen takes the white pawn there is no where to hide and moving the rook next to it…

It wasn’t easy for me. I moved the pieces around till I found the right combo. Then it all made sense. Hope this helps.

Felt good about this win despite low accuracy and 6 misses toward the end. The clock really gets to me but I managed to win. Good game to my opponent 👍🏽

Just reached 1000! Yay for me. Every time I watch a lesson I win a few then apparently forget everything and lose a few 😅

Congrats on the 1000 ! I am so inconsistent I’ve pretty much feel dumber every day. My ego can’t take playing real people so I’ve been doing a lot of Bots. I’ve gone from 1490 to 400 in a heart beat. I do dumb things all the time and get quite discouraged. The only reason I’m still here is that I hold onto the faint hope that I will learn…

Fell asleep and woke up in the silliest trap. Its totally my fault. Nevertheless I figured why not play it out and analyze my game. Nice of my opponent to offer the draw.

What a crazy way to win a rook. I didn’t see it until after it happened. Mainly I’m happy about accuracy above 80 at my level. Good game to max 👍🏽

The example Alekhine game at the end of module 7 made my brain hurt. It wasn’t the lesson itself as much as Alekhine ALREADY had his queen and rook lined up knowing what would probably happen before it did. I’m pausing after each move trying to figure out why and blam there goes my brain. What an artist. At least I like cats.
