Hi Nelson. Would like your take on this game I ended up resigning. Did not see a way through and would like to know what I could have done differently besides the bishop sacrifice that did not open the position.
Since then forced myself to rapid games but with disastrous effects. Playing too fast due to time management anxiety.

Just my 2 cents as a fellow 1200…. I thought move 10 was a missed opportunity. If you’d played 10… c4 you could have forced the queen back and then continued your development.
The situation later where you started moving the bishop is one where I would also struggle. I’ve found that, unless you have a clear continuation, it’s better to just make small improving moves rather than starting to sacrifice pieces. Something like moving rooks to open files or doubling them. Even though your position wasn’t great, you were only 1 pawn down, so you were definitely still in the game. Once you sacrificed your bishop (and knight), then I think it was going to be hard to win.

@ ah I see what you mean. Yes you are right. Would have made the queen move and gain a tempo. Thank you for the insight
