I’m playing the stonewall, or trying to, but in 80% of the games I’m playing my opponents (rated 800ish) are castling queenside. Its like they know whats coming. So i try not to commit pieces to the kingside until they have castled. Then if they go queenside I just push my pawns like crazy and get my queen and bishops pointing that way. Sometimes this works, but it feels very “stretched” and sometimes my opponent takes advantage and sneaks in on the weak kingside squares.

Is castling queenside a good defence against the stonewall?

If so how do 80% of 700-800 rated pkayers know this?

And beyond pushing pawns what should my plan be?

      • It’s a good plan to push pawns and bring your queen when they O-O-O. You just need to figure out your plans and your timing, in my experience that’s the hardest part usually at this level. Try to target the pawns in front of the King and try to keep the center closed so they can’t sneak in easily, that’s what has helped me at least but of course there are a lot better players out there that might know more about this.
