Looking back at it, I can’t believe how much I used to blunder (I was not new to chess by any means in early 2024)! The pictures below show an analysis of some of my losses in early and late 2024. In all of my losses (from a random sample of matches), I blundered more than 3 times in every single match. A personal favourite was one match in early 2024 where I blundered 13 times!!
Fast-forward to October and blundering has become much less of a problem. When I blunder, I usually only do so once, and in half of those losses I didn’t blunder at all.
Thanks Nelson for your method of analysing games!

I got a good chuckle from this as I recently read a chess.com forum post where a user said, “it’s not a blunder if your opponent blunders harder”. To get 13 blunders in one game means your opponent was blundering just as hard as you were. LOL.
And kudos on the record keeping. I’m a data nerd and to learn from your past you need to keep a record of it.

Keith, for the record I just whizzed through some of those games from early 2024. Those numbers I put down were actually wrong. I guess maybe I used to think mistakes and misses were blunders? Either way, I still made enough of them in practically every game.
Glad you had a laugh at least!!
