This game is pretty typical of the ones I lose (I am playing White). Things were going reasonably well until around move 22. There, I decided to press on with an attack that I knew was probably too optimistic instead of playing a simple move like 22. b4 to defend my pawn. I definitely have a tendency to do this, and sometimes it works out, but other times, it is the beginning of the end.

Yep. I think move 22 was the turning point. Then you did something I do All The Time, keep on keeping on with “The Plan” even though the situation has changed. A well fought battle none the less.
