I have noticed recently that almost every person I play when I use the stonewall, castles queenside and has the sole purpose of preventing me from playing the stonewall. This is just in the past couple days, and it’s weird. Did someone come out with an anti stonewall course that I don’t know about!?

      • I’m having similar experiences with the Stonewall. Since I’ve been playing it, everyone seems to know what to do about it. Either e5, or a white-squared bishop g4, h5, g6 to disrupt it. I’ve never played an opponent who blocks both bishops with his pawns. Check this out.

I want to clarify that I will continue to try the Stonewall. But I think it is important to know what concepts there are against the Stonewall. Above all, so that you can change your own concept at the right moment and not get carried away. There are people who say the Stonewall opening is bad. For me, that is complete nonsense. A game of chess is usually won by the better player, not by an opening. Unless they fall into an opening trap.

It can be frustrating. In this game I thought I did the Stonewall well and achieved an accuracy rating of 87.1 for the opening but my opponent had a rating of 91! Neither of us played all that well and I had no blunders but 6 misses.
