I think you handled it pretty well except on moves 18 and 19. I would have pushed the c pawn to defend against the light squared bishop. You were still holding on until you got greedy for pawns on moves 25 and 26. Your opponent had a forced smothered mate in 5 and missed it! Instead of going after pawns, you probably should have checked his king. Then again on move 42 you should have gone after his king instead of jumping back on defense. You were down a full rook, so the only hope was to keep putting his king in check. In fact you were close to winning his queen in three moves.

Looks like you handled the opening pretty well, although around move 10 I would have looked for opportunities to play Re1 to take advantage of his king still being in the center. For example, instead of dxe5, I think Re1 would have been a great move and then recapture with the rook.
