Not related to the course, but last night I got to play a live game against GM Varuzhan Akobian in a simultaneous exibition. For a scrub like me to play such a high rated player was an awesome experience, and I lasted 37 moves before ultimately resigning. I channeled my inner Nelson and went for a sacrifice to open up his king. I thought I was possibly winning at one point, but after checking with stockfish after, my sacrifice was not good and he was +3 😅
