Hey Nelson, thank you for putting the course together!

      Question –

I’m about to hop into module 4 (tactics) and was wondering what is the best way to balance my study/game time: I have about 2-3 hours a day to dedicate to chess, and between practicing tactics, playing games and light-studying openings I’m trying to form a schedule that will balance everything.

I’d love to get your input on, let’s say a weekly plan to practice everything that’s in the course.

      Thanks, have a great weekend!

      • Looks like the final section of the tactics module may answer this (“Lesson 4.22: Where, When, & How To Study Tactics”) but I’m not there yet. I’d just watch through the module and press pause when Nelson tells you to (lots of practicing opportunities in the videos)

        • Great insight. I’m working through an extensive tactics workbook on Chessable so I wonder how to blend that in – I’ll get through the module and see if there are some answers there. I wish there was a resource for a “weekly schedule” that would put some structure to learning/playing chess.

          • Hey Omer, I’ve always personally tried to go with roughly 50/50 split of studying vs playing. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer here though, just make after you have some “aha” moments from studying that you then take some time and play games to give you the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice.
