My first brilliant move using the Stonewall Attack! There are a few things I could have done better, but I’m excited about this opening.

Chess.com is pretty generous with my “brilliant” moves sometimes, haha, but your move was quite good. Your opponent obviously didn’t see it because it looks like he thought your rook was pinned based on his g6 move. Really nice. You made a couple mistakes, like you mentioned, but you were never in trouble. In fact except for one move where the eval bar went to a -.3 (very close to even) you were never even losing. Did you happen to notice that Chess.com gave you a 1500 as your game rating at the end of the review? Good game!

Yeah, I noticed, and the next game I lost with an eval of like 900. I guess that’s why I’m here lol. Thanks for the feedback, @Jay . I’ve been hovering around 1000 elo for rapid since taking the course, and I think that’s as high as I’ve ever been. However, I was mostly playing blitz and bullet previously. I took @ChessVibes ‘s advice and slowed down with these new openings, so it’s probably a combination of neglect previously and focusing on the course. Either way, progress feels good!!!
