Thought I was doing OK until I watched the discovered attack module. Honestly I was only able to see 1 easy solution and the Smothered mate . All the rest were either way beyond me or I only got the first part of the multiple move ones. Not sure what to think about my short comings on this.

Hang in there!
Try playing custom puzzles on Chess.com aimed at particular tactics. I would recommend not going past the Blunder Check module until you feel comfortable with each of the tactics. In my opinion the basic principles and tactics are more important than memorizing lots of openings.

Really elated to inform that I just crossed 1000 on Chess.com (for the very first time!). Thank you Nelson so much for the guidance. Now I play with an 80% confidence of winning any game.

That 4-digit milestone must feel good!

Congrats!

Thank you folks. Though it is now bit tougher to reach 1500, as i can see most opponents are blundering less and are comparatively good at tactics. 🙂

Congrats….That a big win!

Hi Everyone!
I just want to share my first Owen’s defense game
My opponent didn’t “play as he/she should” haha I wasn’t able to pin the knight or develop the bKnight to D7Never the less I think I managed to execute it kinda okay.
Happy to get feedback if you like 🙂
1. e4 b6?! { (0.18 → 0.85) Inaccuracy. e5 was best. } { B00 Owen Defense } (1……

I have noticed recently that almost every person I play when I use the stonewall, castles queenside and has the sole purpose of preventing me from playing the stonewall. This is just in the past couple days, and it’s weird. Did someone come out with an anti stonewall course that I don’t know about!?
-
I’m having similar experiences with the Stonewall. Since I’ve been playing it, everyone seems to know what to do about it. Either e5, or a white-squared bishop g4, h5, g6 to disrupt it. I’ve never played an opponent who blocks both bishops with his pawns. Check this out.

I want to clarify that I will continue to try the Stonewall. But I think it is important to know what concepts there are against the Stonewall. Above all, so that you can change your own concept at the right moment and not get carried away. There are people who say the Stonewall opening is bad. For me, that is complete nonsense. A game of chess…

It can be frustrating. In this game I thought I did the Stonewall well and achieved an accuracy rating of 87.1 for the opening but my opponent had a rating of 91! Neither of us played all that well and I had no blunders but 6 misses.

So two questions can you do a video explaining how to move fast, but well in the last minute or so of a game. For example pre-moving and some of the pitfalls of pre-moving, the 50 move rule, and how you can make good moves and move fast. Something I think you talked about in the most recent video was how you kept in the back of your mind…
