Hi Nelson. Would like your take on this game I ended up resigning. Did not see a way through and would like to know what I could have done differently besides the bishop sacrifice that did not open the position.
Since then forced myself to rapid games but with disastrous effects. Playing too fast due to time management anxiety.

Just my 2 cents as a fellow 1200…. I thought move 10 was a missed opportunity. If you’d played 10… c4 you could have forced the queen back and then continued your development.

I’ve been going through these modules in excruciating detail, yet I always lose. I can’t even break 700…I don’t understand why every player manages to beat me no matter what I try.

Something I have tried is forget about the rating and do the best I can with the time I have. I’ve only been playing 10 minute games for educational purposes and try to be satisfied that I made the best moves I could even if I lose to time controls.

Just to mention, Module 9 episode 1 ends abruptly. Nelson was winding down the lesson anyway, and I doubt anything important is missed, but in the middle of a sentence, the video ended suddenly.

Nelson’s breaking 1500 course has me thinking better. I like to play a few games after each module to apply what he has taught. Latest 10 minute game i was at 780 and this was black to play. I was pretty happy at this point. Stonewall.

Move 14 he has 3 attackers to 2 defenders on that pawn. I like Ne7 there to stop the attack. Losing that rook was the defining moment.

Yeah, move 18-20 was when the evaluation bar swung to your opponent’s favor. But your opponent missed too many moves to make me think anything nefarious.
