I did it, breaking 1500 today with an owen’s defense ! (my opening was not so good)

Confused. Why is it when i play live chess i can consistently lose to 400s’ , but when playing a bot i can routinely win against
850s’ ?

Bots are at least 400+ overrated, sometimes much more. For as good as engines are, the AI isn’t very good at making human-type mistakes in their bots.

Surprisingly this position is survivable. While the engine says black is far better, its not a rapid checkmate. This after I misplayed my stonewall opening. While I won after Nd2 then threatening queen with Be5, engine said Nd2 was not correct so I went through the best moves.

By far the weirdest opening I’ve seen. Kádas. Toward the end I was freaking about time pressure and missed mate in 1. Still played pretty well. Good game to my opponent 👍🏼

Oh man, this game really wore me out. I did EVERYTHING wrong, bad moves , 4 blunders and still won. I was on the ropes with nowhere to go and decided to attack and hope for the opponent to blunder. He did. My rated play was 100. What a joke. It seems like I can’t get out of the openings…

I hate when I win on slop too. I just take the win because I can’t give it back but I don’t have to like it. Lately I’ve won a few but not with brilliant moves.

I’m thinking that for those climbing the rating ladder , never give up . I had a totally loosing position but what I lack in skill I compensate with stubbornness. There is no way I should have won.

Stonewall attack win against 1518 player on Lichess. (30 +20) I still need to learn to finish game faster (suggestions on how to train?)

Nelson, According to the Lichess database I see that at some time during the game, most player play c4. Is it a good move amd which situations?
