My name is Steve and I’m from New York. I started playing chess in a chess club at my elementary school for a couple of years and then didn’t play again until about 5-6 years ago. I’ve played roughly 6,000 games over those 6 years but only have a 50% win rate. My highest ELO was 1102, but for the most part I stay around 1,000&hellip;</p>

I’m John from Southern California. I’m 54 and have always enjoyed playing chess casually, and now think it is equally important to keep my brain challenged at my age. My ELO is 1137 on Chess.com. My chess preference is to long castle with either color. Middle game is decent. My pawn endgame needs a lot of help.</p>

<p>Used the Owen’s defense provided in this course, followed the basic principles for the opening, then the middle game tactics  </p>

Lost around 100 elo since and stuck around 1000 elo now. I find I tend to play a little better in unrated games. I&#8217;m a big fan of chessvibes and I&#8217;m really excited about this course. </p>

I thought my middle and end game was my weakest area but after finishing module 3 and playing with the 2 openings its clear i didnt understand the openings i had been using as well as i thought leaving a lot of weaknesses and complications im not yet&hellip;</p>
