To help add some depth to my understanding of the Stonewall Attack, I’m reading Andrew Soltis’ book, aptly named The Stonewall Attack. It’s expensive, but I was able to get it at a library. I found this game (discussed in the book and this brief article) to be very interesting (and crazy) and wanted to pass it along:

Yep. I received some points for compensation too. I don’t get it. What is the draw of cheating? Maybe they just enjoy trolling people. It would be hard to feel good about winning if you had to cheat.

Chess.com is pretty generous with my “brilliant” moves sometimes, haha, but your move was quite good. Your opponent obviously didn’t see it because it looks like he thought your rook was pinned based on his g6 move. Really nice. Yeah I was thinking maybe we could use one of the group coaching calls to do this if we get through most of the questions people have. I guess it comes down to would you rather have more questions answered or play in a tournament like this?

Hey Everyone! I’m really enjoying the Stonewall Attack. I typically play the Scotch Gambit and Danish Gambit with white, so the Stonewall is very different because the center is mostly locked, leading to some really interesting positions. Hi All! Looking forward to this course. I played a little when I was young and started playing again when my son showed some interest a year ago. Now I play a lot of chess, but I’ve hit a plateau.
