Hi again! I try to use the engine after every game to do a game review and self analysis. However I often find the engine lines are too advanced for my tiny 550elo rated brain, and therefore struggle to learn why what I did was wrong (unless I blundered a pawn or piece again) and what I should be trying to do next after the show moves feature concludes, for example – This is especially true during the late opening/middlegame phase when tension in the centre is building up. I think this is closely linked with lesson 1.5 The difference between knowing and applying, which really resonated with me. My question is do you have further advice about how to learn from game reviews for low rated players, or are there other methods of self assessment better suited to low rated players? – Thanks, Tom (TJC644431 on chess.com)

In the Bonuses menu, Bonus 2: Online Chess Mastery, there are various points that explain how you can use lichess for example to carry out analyses that are tailored to your own needs. Perhaps this tip will help you.
