Shorter time controls are really intended for once you have the pattern recognition already established. Once you’re anticipating your opponent, not blundering much, and know your openings, not running out of time, gradually lower the time control.

If the knight took your queen, you had mate-in-1 with Nf1#. So the engine just ignored that possibility, considering it a bad move.
