In the interference video at 14:43, couldn’t black take the bishop that was ‘interfering with the rook’ with its pawn and prevent white from getting checkmate with the knight on the next move? Couldn’t black move its king to the square where the pawn just was previously?

That would require a backwards pawn move as he mentions the black pawn is moving down the board and the king is in front of the pawn to where the pawn cant move.
