I had a really good game right now using Stonewall attack. I sacrificed a bishop to eventually get my opponent in checkmate. But what I really like about this game is I took Nelson’s advice and I had to bring my C1 Bishop (who was stuck) and maneuver him to the other side of the board to pull of the check mate. I was hoping my opponent…

How many games have you played? I lost my first two but then went on to win 4 in a row but as I posted earlier, I was only able to get the owens set up one time and then the other games I didn’t have a chance to get owens or stonewall going so had to rely just on basic chess principles. I’m around 560 Elo so I just think its more unpredictable.

After getting destroyed in my first two games I’m now on a 4 game win streak. I finally got a chance to snag that e4 pawn using the Owens defense. That was cool. Other than that game, I was not able to get Owens or Stonewall fully set up and had to rely on basic chess principles.

After playing several games using Stonewall as a 500 Elo player is that at this level everyone is so unpredictable and no one has castled in 4 games. I find I have to rely quickly on basic chess principles.

Nelson, one suggestions might be making a custom video for this class where you start at 500 Elo using your AverageJoe acct on Chess.com…

I’m excited to be a part of this course to help me be a better chess player.

I’m sub 1,000 Elo and guilty of playing a lot of daily games to not have the pressure of the clock.

What clock do you recommend to get better at chess? I feel like I make too many mistakes with the 10 min. clock. Is it ok to play with a 20 minute or…
