My chess dot com rapid rating is 470. I decided to open a Lichess account to see how it was as a platform which gave me a starting rating of 1500. I figured I would just jump into a game to get my rating to a more accurate reflection, content with the fact I’m going to lose.

Loving the course, im very new to chess (started August this year). Have been able to go from 200 to 450 rapid and to 700 daily since watching Nelsons rating climbs and learning so much more in the course.
Was just on a winnings streak in rapid games usually getting 80% accuracy so confidence at all time high. Then i all but lose in this game…

Yeah, those kind of pawn push openings can throw you off. When that happens, I like to really focus on good opening principles. For example, on move 7, you started pushing your central pawns and moved your knight a 2nd time. I think you could have just kept developing.

That was a bizarre opening for Black! After developing my pieces I would have taken some time and picked apart all of Black’s weak pawns. That was a target rich environment.
