Complete Noob here (467). I didn’t start playing chess until after I found Nelson’s channel, which I found so entertaining I would watch for fun to relax in the evenings. I’m trying my hand now at the actual game and understandably I’m terrible, but after watching the chapter on the Owen’s defense for Black I just tried it and won. Just had to let someone know I’m proud of myself. Then again, at the end I had two queens versus just his King and a couple of pawns and still had trouble figuring out how to checkmate so I have a ways to go.
