Lesson 6.4 question: in order to foresee the fork before advancing d3, it seems to me that one needs to do a check (like a tactic check) that is not part of the four steps that are discussed in the previous videos. Would that be part of step 5: maybe the things that concern me include the NEXT move that my opponent can do. Or should that be part of step 4?

In short: At what point do I need to check for the possible/best moves (including tactics) that my opponent can make even before I make my move?

I don’t think this planning ahead for my opponent’s response has been mentioned so far (Lesson 6.4). Sorry if I missed it.

I think I lose quite a few games by not predicting what my opponent might/may/will do. I’d like to include that in my “pre-move checklist” but am not sure how best to insert it in there, especially since there are a lot of tactics to think about, both for me on this move and for my opponent’s move after that.

Does the checklist get filled in in a later module?
