Thank you @dgweatherbyhotmail-com – Yes, I am in the same boat with you, but I found it interesting what Nelson said about being good at tactics but not finding them during the game….so, I’m doing better always looking for them. Age is just a number (easy for us to say at our age LOL).

Regarding: Bonus 2.6: Chess Engines
I went back and analyzed my recent games using all the tips from that bonus module. You explained them so well – to date I had only figured it out on my own but had missed A LOT of features. Thanks to you I was amazed at what I learned from the LOST games. Thanks again!

Puzzle 8.2: I’m really struggling with this one, I see I can check the king on the same diagonal as the promoting pawn on a1, but I don’t see how to stop both. Anyone got a hint please (I know it’s queen moves)?

I’m really enjoying the course a lot, and I’m practicing the Stonewall tonight. However, so far, my favorite part of where you show the board, and then say what each level player would see! That was totally amazing, and so true to real life! (i.e. Lesson 4.1: The Crucial Importance of Tactics) I am going to memorize that board set-up before…

So excited to join this course with everyone! I’ve been playing online for 3 years (got serious during Covid lockdowns). I’ve also been trying to participate in quarterly tournaments for a little over 1 year (UR/beginner teams).
