  • Hi Nelson, first of all I’m enjoying the great course that you’ve put together. I’m following the course step by step and moving on once I’ve mastered it. My ELO is approximately 1100. However, I’m stuck on the Stonewall Attack and the Owen’s Defence level. I’ve repeated the modules several times now and seem to understand the concepts of…

    • Nej, I would say keep going with the course. The opening is just to get you off on the right foot and will rarely lead to wins just from the opening. The tactics, not blundering, and positional understanding in the middlegame is really where most of the wins will come from. I hope that makes sense!

        • Well it’s roughly 15 hours of content so it really depends on how much time you’re spending each day. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way, just what you are comfortable with!

          • I think it’s less “how long should it take to get through” and more “how long to really grasp the concepts”. I have probably watched the openings (Stonewall and Owen’s) a couple times already as I realize i failed to lock some concept in.

            • Thank you both. 🙂
