Hi, Nelson (and everyone else). I’m on the Fork chapter and looking at the first Advanced exercise. I think there’s another fork than the ones you point out. In this one, the queen can capture the pawn on a7. I thought you were going to talk about the fork being either a capture, or threatening check mate. When the queen captures the pawn on a7, it threatens check mate on g7 and also threatens the rook on b8. Did I miss anything, or is this a legitimate fork?

Hey Keith, that is a good idea but I think black can play Rg8 which saves the rook and also stops the checkmate!

Hey Keith, I was going to make the same comment. I guess that’s why we’re taking this course, and not teaching it.
