• Dear Nelson:

Sorry for this post, but I feel obliged to express what I am feeling taking the course.

At lesson 4.1 tactics, Martin posted that detected instantly, it happens the same to me.

The first thing to analyze in a position are the possible checks, I guess than an intermediate player will see this checkmate in 3.

I have done 5,700 puzzles at Chess.com, perhaps that has helped me to detect it instantly, but in any case an intermediate player will visualize this mate in three.

I am concerned (up to now) about the benefit of this course, I will continue with it but so far I see an underestimation of the levels of players.

The course is Breaking 1500, but what is a 1500 ELO player like?

      • Hey Arturo, I think you’re saying that the course is a bit too easy for you so far? I tried to make sure I very clearly explain every lesson in this course so that EVERYONE can follow. Maybe that comes across as too easy, but I would rather it be a bit too easy in parts but have everyone understand, than the other way around. That being said, some of the lessons do get more complicated but if you feel like you are too advanced for the course, I understand.

        • Hi Nelson,

          Thanks for your reply.

The course content so far has been easy for me, but that’s not the main point.

I am concerned about the apparent underestimation of the level of play of an ELO 1500 player, at least in terms of tactics.

I expect a lot from modules 5 and 6, after which I will comment on them.

I trust in your experience in preparing this course and I hope that upon completion I have obtained the necessary knowledge to improve my level of play.
