Many players in that ELO range try the &#8220;Scholars Mate&#8221; which is the bishop and queen move you described. To keep the spirit of the Owen&#8217;s when they do that, I&#8217;d say play knight to F6 is a good move to block that attack and get a tempo with your&hellip;</p>

It also depends on where some of your opponent&#8217;s pieces are because if you hop your knight in the pocket to offer the trade in the center and they don&#8217;t take it, that automatically leaves a spot in front of their king that you can try to&hellip;</p>
