Hello. I wanted to introduce myself. I started playing chess again during the pandemic shutdown. Despite lots of study and playing I’m stuck around 800. I signed up for the course hoping to figure out what im doing wrong. I’m not very comfortable with hyper modern openings like the Stonewall or Owens, but then again d4/e4 openings don’t seem to be working out that well either. I enjoy Nelson’s videos on YouTube so have great expectations in the course!

Hey Lawrence! Openings aren’t as make or break as a lot of people think they are. Spend most of your time on the tactics and middlegame stuff and I think you’ll get the greatest benefit.
