Just a tip for best use of the course is to follow Nelson’s advice to take a lesson and play. I’ve been on my own version of ratings climb using the bots after lessons. Started on 800 bots and kept playing until I beat all three at each level. Using the lessons I went through the levels easily until I hit 1600. I had a couple of losses one draw and today a win. I’ve been playing chess off and on for 67 years but never as competently as now. Thanks Nelson.

My only regret was that I couldn’t make either suggested opening work even at the 800 level. I played way more than 10 games and had a great deal of difficulty winning because I always had to transition to something else midway and my pieces weren’t properly developed. But it’s smooth sailing using the Colle and the three knights openings I’m familiar with.
