I’m stuck at around 900 rapid and can’t seem to break the 1000 ceiling. The only openings I know anything about are e4/e5 openings. So, when your course introduced/suggested “Stonewall” for white, I thought, “I’ll give it a try”. Other than the first 2 moves, the opening has yet to go exactly as described in the course (yet), but I won my first game using the opening (or close approximation thereof). My second game using the opening, I scored my first EVER brilliant move by attacking my opponent’s queen with a “tactically defended” (but otherwise hanging) bishop. Basically if my opponent were to take the hanging bishop with his queen, it would permit me to take his rook and force checkmate (I think). My opponent saw the tactic, but attempted to block/attack the bishop with a pawn move that permitted me to checkmate in one. Felt good.
