Since starting the course, I’m up 200 Elo and still winning most of my games! I have to give a big thank you to @ChessVibes for the course. Playing has been so much more fun now that I have a solid understanding of the game, and my goal is to reach 1000 Elo before the end of the year.

I just looked through this game since I’ve also been playing the King’s Indian quite a bit recently. I think my recommendation is to look at some videos about the opening to better understand the theory behind it. For example, playing Nf6 instead of d5 is the way to start this opening in response to d4. When you see e4, you play the Pirc and…

I’ve been playing the Pirc/King’s Indian mostly, and I’m doing pretty well with that approach. I’ll break out the Owen now and then, but I think I keep running into problems because I struggle with pawn breaks and figuring out when to throw c5/d5 in.

I was actually just wondering about this. The only problem I’ve had is that there are far fewer people playing unrated games. I often wait for quite a while for a 15|10 to start, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a 30min game to start. I think the biggest upside is that you get to play people at a lot of different skill levels. I played a…
