Hi all, really excited to be here! 🙂 Question please! I haven’t really been playing against players much due to either the fact that each game takes ages or on the flip side I dont have enough time to think 🙂
I’ve been playing against bots where there is no time limit and I can play moves in between meetings etc; I just finished with the 1500 bots atm and moving on. Do you think I am just wasting my time and would be much more beneficial if I played against players only.?
Thank you!!

Not wasting time, but real players will throw you curves that the bots will not.
Try the 15/10 rapid games when you have a half-hour to spare.

You can play daily games where you have 1-3 days to make a move. I love it cause I can continuously play other players even if I’m busy.

As mentioned above, daily chess is an option to play slow games where you can incorporate the new knowledge learned here into your game, without any time pressure. Sometimes, I also like to play against the strongest computer (3200-rated chess.com) from a certain position. For instance, I played again a human opponent today. The opponent abandoned the game after losing the queen, so I played the rest of the game against computer. Despite of significant material advantage, it was not an easy one – the computer will uncompromisingly punish any mistake you make. But there was no time pressure, no cheap blunders of the opponent that would have helped me. I was really forced to focus, avoid mistakes, find weaknesses/targets for attack and exploit them. As the computer will not blunder any pieces, it rather forces you to address strategic weaknesses like backward pawns, overloaded pieces etc.
