Hi everyone. I hope you are all enjoying and getting as much out of this course as I am.
TACTICS!!! My nemesis. Section 4 in this course. I have always procrastinated/been intimidated to improve this aspect of my game. I am older 54, started playing a few years ago. 1100ish on chesscom and have found it hard to grasp some of the concepts by doing puzzles.
Recently I have found a couple of books that explain, in detail, the concepts behind the tactics. They are really helping me and maybe they can help some of you.
Predator At The Chess Board: Book 1 and Book2 : by Ward Farnsworth.

Thank you @dgweatherbyhotmail-com – Yes, I am in the same boat with you, but I found it interesting what Nelson said about being good at tactics but not finding them during the game….so, I’m doing better always looking for them. Age is just a number (easy for us to say at our age LOL).
