									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yeah I think at my ELO (1200 rapid on Chess.com) there has to be a very tangible benefit like you’re saying. The engine really seems to dislike it when it happens in the middle and end game so perhaps just being extra careful then will pay off. </p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I’ve had a couple games where I’ll analyze them afterwards and notice a huge swing in the evaluation when I give up a pawn. Usually I do so to get some kind of initiative, but the engine seems to think it’s a huge mistake and even at times flags it as a blunder. Is there any rule of thumb I could use to know when it’s ok to give up a pawn and&hellip;</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tough spot no doubt. I’ve found really focusing on calculation and really taking my time has lead to improving my chess the most. At the end of the day what the engine is doing is just calculation, but at a very deep level. So we as humans might as well get as good as possible at it. </p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It looks like by black going Qg6 you set yourself up for a nice pin/fork with Bd3. They are threatening two moves: 1) Ke7 check with a discovered attack with the bishop on your queen and 2) threatening to take your knight on c2 because it’s trapped. You negate all of this by not stepping into that pin/fork by going Qf6.</p>
