      Hi Nelson, I was just playing the stonewall any my opponent immediately played e5. I think messed things up by responding e3. I don’t see a way to avoid not having that pawn in the middle of my stonewall unless I take it…

          • Yeah unfortunately if they play e5 immediately (Englund Gambit) there isn’t really a way to play the stonewall any more. You just need to take the pawn and play chess from there. The good news is you will have a slight advantage but there are still a few tricks to be aware of in the Englund Gambit. For example if they ever play Qe7, watch out for a fork on b4 with Qb4+ at some point.
