I’ve not had chance to play for a few days due to work but I’m getting a better feel for the Owens defence and where to attack now. I had a nice solid win in this game as I just tried to focus on not blundering and developing well in hope of seeing a tactic as my pieces reached more active places. Having said that I missed some obvious tactics around moves 14, 17 & 19 getting sidelined with just making sure my pieces were safe. I saw the knight move only a move late but could still play it on move 15 but when my opponent moved his bishop to block check on d3 I completely missed Nc2+ to win the queen… so obvious in the game review and even more annoying having done nothing but puzzles for the last week. Having moaned about my misses it was a nice solid win in the end and I was delighted pushing back over the 1100 mark.
