This is so pathetic its funny.
No fault of Nelson, but i am a horrible chess player. I have recently mastered the art of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
If im not totally blundering my pieces and playing like im taking bribes from my opponent, i do manage at times to mount a devastating attack where i totally decimate the other side, wiping out almost all his pieces. One move to checkmate. And then i brilliantly figure out how to STALEMATE !!!!!
I guess im not use to winning and have never made it that far into an end game where stalemate was a possibility. I’ve done it 3 times lately. Thinking maybe chasing butterflies is more of a sport for me. Yikes.

We all seem to go through streaks where we seem to make mistake after mistake (I certainly have), however you can certainly improve. Just concentrate on one or two items at a time. Based on your comments, concentrate on doing the blunder checks before every move. That sounds like it will solve a lot of your problems.
As far as stalemates go, Nelson has said several times in his rating climb videos to put the king in check each move as you corner an isolated king; as you can’t stalemate them if they are in check!
Don’t give up, concentrate on one area of improvement then pull in additional new ideas as that first area improves!

That is very common.. I am climbing to 600. I still mistake Checkmate for Stalemate. It Is crazy how If you take Nelson’s advice and look at the LAST move your opponent makes and DON’T blunder. You will usually win. The don’t blunder part Is the trick. I have learned I really have to have my head In the game. If I move ONCE casually and didn’t think it through. It leads to losses Really fast. Does Nelson come on this Board?
