Fighting discouragement. Definitely learning a few things along the way but somethings going over my head. Have to constantly fight to remember that the more experience I get the light will get brighter. On some lessons the give an explanation then practice with a quiz works for me, however on some I guess I don’t understand thoroughly the concept and the quizzes get too advanced too quick. ( Master ? ) Totally overloaded. I keep going on figuring that at some point I can come back and things will make sense to me.
Anyway , now to a more practical question. On your opening tutorials I see that the openings are to counter logical moves and develop pieces, but what is the optimum position I want to be in if the opposing player does just random crazy no sense moves leaving the center unattended? Should I still do the Stonewall or Owens or just go for controlling the center with two pawns backed up with knights or bishops ?
