Just like I remember my first beer, I will remember my first double check checkmate that I didn’t realize was a checkmate until after it happened. 😅

chess.com ratings are a mystery for me. Rapid i’m under 500. Puzzles i’ve been as high as 1946, I now hover around 1500-1600. Bots in the 850 range have fallen to me and beat me. Some of my games with bots have said i was 1300 while i’ve also recently been called a 200. My accuracy has been anywhere from 87 to 36 %. btw, i won the game with…

Ditto. Guess I’ll just have to trust the process. Until the training kicks in I guess I’ll have to be content knowing that I’m making a huge contribution to the chess world. So far it seems that my contribution is to raise EVERYONE else’s ELO by beating me.

Had a bit of luck at the end. Accuracy was reasonably good and only one small blunder. I think my opponent could have stayed in if he wanted to. Good game to them 👍🏼

In the breaking 1500 course, noticed the overloading lesson was similar to removing the guard from squares as well as pieces. 😃

Guy sacks his queen on move 13 and runs the clock down like a pro. I finally blundered and resigned.

It doesn’t look to me like a sac but rather a queen blunder. He didn’t see your knight. It looks like you were stressed that he might be some mastermind sacrificing his queen and lost a lot of time, e.g., on move 23 you spent a minute to defend a pawn in front of the king that was already defended by another pawn and the king, so it had…

Mike Tyson made a famous quote, ” Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the face “. When I play I feel like I’m in the ring with Mike. My fried liver turns to fried brain panic attack!

This one was fun! Used a pin to park both my knights. A two knights offense?

Thing of beauty. Checkmate. Nelson’s break 1500 course has me looking for attacks. Queen in front of king is checkmate. https://www.chess.com/game/121278291618

Another fun scrape I should have lost. Deliberately tried to lure opponent to attack me and was down a piece and eeked out a win. Thanks for the breaking 1500 tips, Nelson!
