After the breaking 1500 interference lesson, I realized something. When a king is checked there are only 3 options: move out of check, interpose (block) the check, or capture the checking piece. I see this idea applies to any piece or square on the board you want to capture or occupy and not just a check to the king. Just trying to make a mental checklist to use while learning to caculate.
